"“The encouragement to pursue, guidance in pursuit of, and then facilitation and execution of peer to peer community loans by Slow Money SLO and the SBDC team was the foundation of our bakery construction project. We feel gratitude every day for this assistance and all the opportunity it has created for our bakery and our team.” - Sam DeNicola, Founder of Bread Bike

Bread Bike

Bread Bike is a small San Luis Obispo based organic bakery that bakes 100% organic naturally leavened bread and California style pastries using locally sourced ingredients and delivers them to their Community Supported Bakery members by bicycle. Through their work, they strive to cultivate, educate, and inspire an inclusive community that cares about their food, their farmers, their planet and each other.

The creation of Bread Bike was motivated by a desire to create and share food with friends and strangers, whether it be through farmers’ markets, weekly pizza nights or deliveries at hundreds of front doors. Their sustainable methods of incorporating local products, maintaining delivery methods and nurturing a friendly environment has assisted Bread Bike’s success.
